How to Order a portrait
Ever thought about capturing a special moment or loved one in a portrait but weren't sure where to start? Don't worry – I've got you covered.
Getting a portrait isn't an everyday thing, and I know it can feel a bit overwhelming. That's why I'm here to walk you through the whole process, making it as smooth as possible.
Step 1: Let's Connect
First things first, let's chat. Whether you're dreaming of a gift for a special occasion or wanting to preserve a cherished memory, I'm all ears. You can reach me by phone at 086 3408855 or drop an email to info@robmccormackart.com. I'm available Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and always excited to hear about your portrait ideas.
Step 2: Choose the Perfect Photo
The magic begins with a great photo. And when I say great, I mean really great. Natural daylight is your best friend here – think soft, even lighting that captures the real essence of the person. Head and shoulders shots work best, showing enough detail to bring the portrait to life. Not sure if your photo will work? Just send it over, and I'll give you honest advice.
Step 3: Design Your Portrait
Once we've found the perfect image, we'll chat about the details. What style are you looking for? Pencil? Oil? Acrylic? What size speaks to you? I'll help you navigate these choices, ensuring we create something you'll absolutely love.
Step 4: Secure Your Spot
When we're both happy with the plan, a small 35% deposit secures your spot. Don't worry – I'll walk you through everything, and you can peek at the terms and conditions to put your mind at ease.
Step 5: Watch Your Portrait Come to Life
Then comes the fun part – creating your portrait. I pour my heart into every piece, working carefully to capture not just a likeness, but the spirit of the person. It typically takes between one to four weeks, depending on how many beautiful stories I'm telling through portraits at the time.
Step 6: Delivery and Delight
Once it's complete, I'll send you a preview. If there's anything you'd like tweaked, just say the word. Your happiness is my top priority. When you're totally in love with the portrait, you'll pay the remaining balance.
Delivery is a breeze. For local clients, you can collect from my studio in Trim, Meath. If you're further afield, I'll carefully package your portrait and send it via courier. Irish deliveries are completely free, and you'll typically receive your artwork within 2-3 days.
Have a specific deadline? Just let me know. I'll do my absolute best to make it happen.
